Biography: Gone too soon, David Achkar promised to be one of the most brilliant filmmakers of his generation in Africa. He left behind him a small but significant filmography. Allah Tantou is his bestknown work which became the first African film to confront the immense personal and political costs of the widespread human rights abuses on the continent.
