Stephen Leeds

Stephen Leeds has been honored by the prestigious New York Film Society’s New Films / New Directors at the Museum of Modern Art. He founded SLC (Stephen Leeds Creative) in 2009 and has produced and directed numerous 50 television commercials. In addition to running his commercial company, Stephen works as a feature motion-picture screenwriter for various Hollywood studios and production companies (past works include scripts for The Walt Disney Company, New Regency Pictures and Phoenix Pictures, as well as others). Stephen has a B.A. in Literature and Writing from U.C.L.A. and an M.F.A. in film from Columbia University in New York City, where he graduated with honors. His short film Get that Number (1997) won Best Picture at The Columbia University / Polo Ralph Lauren – New Line Cinema Festival of New Works. After several years working on projects in the studio system, Stephen wrote, directed and produced the indy comedy, The Magnificent Cooly-T (2009). Stephen founded SLC as a one-stop shop for advertising, strategic marketing and commercial production. For his first assignment, he created and directed a national television commercial campaign for the Dictionary.com iPhone app. Since then, Stephen has produced and directed numerous television spots and several popular shorts for the web.
