Pan in Brooklyn takes viewers on a journey through the steel band “panyards” and through the streets of Brooklyn on J’Ouvert morning- the opening of Labor Day Carnival. You will experience the amazing street theatrics, costumes, music, and political underpinnings at the heart of the J’Ouvert celebration.  Featured are winning costume and music presentations from recent years, as well as the youth, families, and elders who help bring “Pan in Brooklyn” to life!

Keith Getter is a Brooklyn, New York, resident with active ties to housing, economic development, arts, culture and community health care non-profits. He is also a photographer and videographer and produces documentary footage and photography of musical and dance performance celebrating Afro-Carribean culture including steel pan performances.
