This film covers an interview with Licínio Azevedo, a Brazilian filmmaker who lives in Mozambique. The stories he shares with the audience are about the culture and history of his people, and how he works to make his movies.

Pola Ribeiro

Pola Ribeiro, born in Salvador, Brazil in 1955 is a communicator, filmmaker and Brazilian Public Manager with training in Communication from the Federal University of Bahia. He is known for his film A Lenda Do Pai Inacio (1987). Before attending university, he had already started making films, producing about 40 with friends that, at the time, circulated in movie clubs, exhibitions and festivals, receiving several national awards. He has made dozens of video works and institutional and cultural documentaries, with the highlight being República de Canudos, shown twice on national television and receiving eight national and international awards. He was Director of IRDEB - Instituto de Radiodifusão Educativa da Bahia from 2007 to 2014. From 2015 to 2016, he was Audiovisual Secretary of the Ministry of Culture. Pola, as he is known, has a degree in Communication from UFBA. In 1976, he received his first prize at the 5th Brazilian Short Film Festival for the film Por Exemplar, Caxundé. Learn More
