Africa’s first animated feature-length film tells of three children who make a daring escape from the underground city in which they are slaves of the Evil Emperor in search of the fabled Sky Kingdom and the great Prince Ariel. They must journey through the Jungle of Despair and the Desert of Desolation, while trying to stay ahead of the evil emperor’s hyenas.

About the Director

Roger Hawkins

Biography: Roger Hawkins was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 1993, Hawkins resigned his job as a math teacher and took the brave step of hiring the largest theatre in Zimbabwe for the purpose of staging a musical he had written and directed. The show, The Singer, was a resounding success. Encouraged by this, he decided to make a career in the performing arts. As a filmmaker, his work includes The Legend of the Sky Kingdom (2003), The Silent Fall (2006) and The Lion of Judah (2009).
