This animated film tells the story of a king who feels that he is getting too old and should step down. He must convene his people to announce his decision…The Succession comes from the most profound side of Africa, that of myths and legends.

About the Director

Vincent Glès

Biography: Vincent Glès was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. After working as a film and video director at the state-owned television station in Ivory Coast, he moved to France where he studied film at the Institut des Arts Appliqués. He then worked for the Assedic, a social organization, where he was a film consultant. Glès arrived in North America in 1981 to pursue his film studies at the Université de Montréal. In 1982, he directed the award-winning documentary La Saint-Jean en Côte d’Ivoire. Glès founded Les Productions du Griot in 1993. He also teaches the techniques of animation cinema.
