Amo Kubeyinje

Biography: Amo Kubeyinje was born in 1970 in Nigeria, where he worked as a production assistant for several television commercials before moving to the United States in 1992. There, he majored in Film and Video at the City College of New York and during this time, produced two documentaries. He also worked as a production assistant on several films and music videos including Personals featuring Malik Yoba. Amo Kubeyinje’s undergraduate thesis was L’Amore Fatale (2001), a short film he wrote and directed that deals with the repercussions of an abusive relationship. His film Kemi (2002) is the first part of a trilogy dealing with experiences of three immigrants in America and their relationships to their homeland.
