This short film was inspired by Ugandan Catholic priest Father Anthony Musaala’s open letter to the Catholic church titled: “The Failure of Celibate Chastity among Diocesan Priests”. Father Musaala is one of many Ugandans who have been persecuted as a result of the countries recently passed Anti Homosexuality Act.

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine is a dual citizen of Uganda and America working in the mediums of photography, theatre, film and television. Feature film acting credits include Blood Diamond and 40. Film directing credits include Beware of Time, which premiered at the Pan African Film Festival and at the Berlin Black International Cinema Festival where it won Best film on matters relating to Marginalized People. His most recent film Kuhani won the main prize for Best Achievement in Directing at the International Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Switzerland and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film at Slamdance 2014. His TV acting credits include recurring roles on the Steven Soderbergh series The Knick, HBO’s series Treme, Heroes, The Riches, ER and CSI to name a few. Mwine recently received a Peabody Award nomination as a series regular on Showtime's The Chi. He starred in the 2020 Sundance Film Festival selected, Farewell Amor by Ekwa Msangi. He is set to write, direct, and produce a feature-length documentary about Ugandan studio photographer Kibaate Aloysius Ssalongo. Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh is attached as an executive producer. Learn More
