When the safe life that Jenny has created for herself is intruded upon by a handsome and kind security guard, she begins to imagine the romance that she writes about in her books, might be possible for her, but ultimately her fear of reality leads to her misinterpreting it, with tragic consequences.

About the Director

Elizabeth Dougherty

After completing a Masters in Film and Television Production at Bristol University Libby Dougherty began working in the South African television industry predominately as a writer. She has written and story lined for a number of drama series including Zone 14, Jacob's Cross, Hopeville, Tempy Pushas and Isibaya. She began directing in 2011 on Zone 14 series 5, followed by Tempy Pushas, for which her directing team won a SAFTA in 2014. She has also worked in documentary, particularly as an assistant producer on 21Up South Africa, and 28Up South Africa, which was nominated for a Bafta. She is currently directing on Soul City and story-lining for Isibaya. Learn More
