Jann Turner

jann-turnerBiography: Jann Turner is a South African film director, novelist, television director and screenwriter. She is best known for directing the 2009 film White Wedding, her feature film directorial debut. Born to parents Rick Turner and Barbara Hubbard. Her father was a banned anti-apartheid academic, who was killed in front of her when she was thirteen years old. Three months after her father’s death, Hubbard fled to Britain with her children, after a threats of being banned. Turner completed her education in Britain and the United States, graduating from Oxford University and Tisch School of the Arts, respectively. Turner has directed episodes on many television series and she is also a novelist, having authored the novels Heartland, Southern Cross and Home Is Where You Find It.
