Alfonso Johnson is an actor and director, who was born and raised in Queens, NY. Alfonso has been performing since the age of 12, where he got his start at the world famous Apollo Theater. Alfonso has trained at the prestigious William Esper Studio and is an alum of the Labyrinth Theater Company’s Master Class. In 2012, Alfonso took on one of his most challenging tasks, becoming a filmmaker. He wrote and directed A Saturday Is A Terrible Thing To Waste, which he also starred in opposite of late great comedian Charlie Murphy. Since then he has made films such as Tough, starring Tony Nominated actor John Earl Jelks and Olive, featuring MaameYaa Boafo and appeared in the films Anonymous, Amok and Trapped Inside Out. Alfonso won top honors at the 2018 American Black Film Festival winning the HBO award for Best Short Film for Moths & Butterflies.
