The Schomburg Center and AFF, Inc. present a screening of the Oscar nominated film Tanna, as part of the Schomburg’s Rewind: ‘Best of’ film series. Performed entirely by the Yakel people, Tanna follows two lovers who leave their homes in order to live the life they desire against their families and heritage. Inspired by true events, Tanna brings us closer to a world presumably far from our own but creates a bond surrounded by tragedy and love.
Followed by a discussion with former Vanuatu Ambassador H. E. Robert Van Lierop and Malika Lee Whitney.
