Born January 22, 1960, in Nzeto, northern Zaire province, Nguxi dos Santos was a war reporter in TPA between 1979 and 1989, having belonged to the Department of Cinema Political Directorate FAPLA. Between 1981 and 1982 he filmed the battle of Cahama - a conflict between the Angolan and South African army - and, in 1992, was one of the reporters who documented the post-election conflict that occurred in Luanda. In the field of audiovisual documentaries, Nguxi Dos Santos produced and directed such films as Pelo Silêncio das Armas, Mamã Muxima, O Grande Desafio, and Um Homem Enterrado Vivo. With the exhibition People and Places, Nguxi dos Santos internationalized his career, by presenting the exhibition in Maputo in May, and in November in Macau. In 2005, the photographer exhibited Marks of War in Venezuela. He presented the exhibition Tombs of the Kingdoms of Congo in Luanda. As a producer for the Professional Public Television of Angola (TPA), which produces documentaries and entertainment programs, Nguxi dos Santos is one of the most respected artists in the field of visual arts. In 2005 and 2015, he received the National Prize for Culture and Arts, for his contribution in the field of Angolan documentary film and photography.
