Remi is a vibrant and versatile director covering commercials, documentary and drama. She has recently directed an award winning docu-drama, One Small Step which was featured in the New York African Film Festival and went on tour in the USA; Scent of the Streets, a documentary on area girls in Lagos, Nigeria, for BBC News as well as the groundbreaking 52 part TV Drama Wetin Dey for BBC World Service Trust in Nigeria. Her career began in 1990 in the Art Department working on films such as Judge Dredd (1995), and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut (1999). She has gained notoriety as a storyboard artist, visualizing the action, camera and mood for her clients such as the BBC and The 51st State (2001). Remi’s mission is to create a slate of cutting edge feature films and documentaries that will focus a sharp lens onto contemporary Africa. More recently, she has created historical motion portraits such as Faaji Agba and Unspoken.
