O Testamento do Senhor Napumoceno is an epic tale of one of the world's least known but most culturally complex societies: Cape Verde. This classic account of the hollowness of provincial bourgeois life introduces English-speaking audiences to German Almeida, one of the outstanding writers in Portuguese today.  Featuring the beautiful morna music of Tito Paris and Cesaria Evora, this film vividly evokes the character, humor, and pace of life of Cape Verde.
