Andrea Nix Fine is an Oscar, Emmy and Peabody award-winning filmmaker. She been producing, directing and shooting documentaries for the finest outlets in television and film, along with her partner Sean Fine. They have worked in over thirty countries, from dangerous war zones to the Arctic Circle, to bring unknown human stories to the screen. Their film War Dance won the 2009 Best Documentary and Best Cinematography Emmy and was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Inocente (2012), a coming-of-age story about a homeless 15-year-old Latina artist, won the 2013 Oscar for Best Short Documentary. The Fines HBO documentary feature, Life According to Sam, chronicles a family’s race against time to save their son from an extremely rare and fatal disease, debuted at Sundance, was shortlisted for the 2014 Academy Awards for Best Documentary and was also honored with a Peabody and Emmy Award that same year.
